String

A flexible connection for exploring tension, vibration, and temporary attachments.

Get to know it

String carries a pull more readily than a push. Compare a loose length with one held gently taut. Cotton, wool, and synthetic cords can transmit vibrations differently, and knots may slip. Describe the kind and length of string when reporting an observation.

What happens if…

  • What changes when the string goes slack?
  • Where might vibration leave the string?
